Printing Preferences in Vista

I am printing on a Wifi network and EVERY time I print something I have to re-specify everything (paper size, no color, etc.). I save it and then I have to do it all over again.

I never had this problem with 2000 or XP. When and where can I get a copy of Windows 7 everyone keeps mentioning?

And in the mean time, is there anything I can do to stop having to re-adjust my printing options every time I print something? It is VERY time consuming.
