Printing Skip

sir!
i have Epson Dot Matrix printer installed on a system having windows 2000 operating system. when i m sending a print job from Local or Network the speed of a printer is quite slow and Paperskip as compare to any previous operating system like win98.it is not the problem of software from which i m sending the print bcoz it reacts the same using every software.
plz give me any advise that solve or normalized printing
