printing with XP

I am using a Windows 2000 print server and most of my clients are still using Windows 2000 but I do have several that are using Windows XP. Those that are using Windows XP are complaining that the printers are not responding right away and that often there is up to a five minute wait period before the printers will actually print. This is only occuring on my Windows XP users and not with the others. Any suggestion on why this is occuring?
