Does it bother anyone else out there as much as it does me that privacy seems to be disappearing faster than water through your fingers?
Examples:
* Cell phones are now equipped with GPS, or “location”, technology. **1 can always track where you are. Others can, too, if you don’t turn this “feature” off. Could some unscrupulus police or government official track his political enemies?
* Cameras are EVERYWHERE. (Just look around, the next time you drive about town.)
* Internet-capable houses, which allow the owner, via the Internet, to turn security on or off, see who’s in the house, and to turn various things on and off. The police can watch what you’re doing, if they have a warrant. Do you think they ever will without a warrant?
* We now buy lots of things via the Web, entering our credit card and other personal information without even batting an eye. Do you think it’s really safe to do that?
A good hacker could crack any of this stuff. An evil person whopays the hacker sufficient money could find out all kinds of things about you or me.
What does anyone else think about this?
