Problem accessing apache server by Domain name, within network.

by mnewbegin . Updated 19 years, 1 month ago

I have a problem accessing apache server by Domain name inside my work network.

We have come across this problem before, but I need to fix it for my work setup.

We have a domain that we will be using for a mail server

and I want the page to load automatically when they access the domain name for it, instead of having to access

http://192.168.0.129 -> the actual ip for the server on the network.

This server shares the network IP address with the rest of the clients.

I know its possible to change my hosts list but can I change the hosts list on my win2k3 server so it references correctly, for all my machines, or in my cisco 1700 router so it references correctly.

I get dns errors now but no errors viewing off network.
