Problem downloading security software fromm ATT.NET DSL

by rivrbyte . Updated 18 years, 6 months ago

I just got the Att.net DSL from having AOL Dial-up, and boy am I having issues trying to install the ATT Security software!

In order for me to download the Firewall/anti-virus/anti Spam software..((I’ve already tried three times and got error messages) The software download page is telling me to remove all Anti-virus software before it will load. I’ve tried everything imaginable,,that’s why I’m here. I have now just the AOL free email address, and using ATT/DSL as my connection. The aol software is still installed on the computer until the 16th of Dec.

AOL Firewall – Disabled
Windows-Firewall -Disabled
I went to Control Panel> Add/ remove programs> I could not see any such anti virus, spam, spyware anywhere. I went to Find Files/Folders-nada…I went to Windows Explorer> nada. I even went to REGEDIT and looked in the registry, root directory and found nothing at all. I went to my Aol Spam, Pop up, Spyzapper and turned them all OFF…..Any ideas?

Is it a problem to have AOL Firewall and WinXP Firewall onboard but inactive and disabled? This download site is seeing something I can’t. The only way I can have the ATT security software is to install/download the ATT Firewall. Thanks, Jim
