Problem with Belkin USB Peripheral Switch and HP 5780 All-in-One printer

I am getting a blue screen of death (Stop Error) when trying to connect two dell computers and my Belkins USB peripheral switch (F1U201).

The error message reads: A message appears on a blue screen with error code information (for example: 0x0000001E,KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED)

I have the following equipment:
Dell Dimension 4550, Dell Inspirion 5150, Belkin USB Peripheral Switch (F1U201) and HP Officejet J5780 All-in-One.

Operating System: Windows XP

The printer works fine if I connect direct to the computer but will not work with the switcher.
