Problem with DNS in 2k3 Server

by abccomputer . Updated 19 years ago

I’m getting ready to istall Exchange on an existing win2K3 server. In the prep process I ran DCDiag to double check that DNS is running properly.

I get this error.

Testing server: Default-First-Site\SERVER1
Starting test: Connectivity
The host 6c0e614f-671e-4f7e-b6c3-1769ed28f5f8._msdcs.domain.loc
al could not be resolved to an
IP address. Check the DNS server, DHCP, server name, etc
Although the Guid DNS name
(6c0e614f-671e-4f7e-b6c3-1769ed28f5f8._msdcs.Domain.local)
couldn’t be resolved, the server name (SERVER1.Domain.local)
resolved to the IP address (192.168.1.3) and was pingable. Check that
the IP address is registered correctly with the DNS server.
……………………. SERVER1 failed test Connectivity

I’ve checked the DNS settings, and they appear to be correct.
