Problems adding workstations to a Domain

If anyone can help me with this issue it would be greatly appreciated. Currently we are in the middle of a migration and some of our users are getting upgraded Win XP machines. A company image is being placed on all machines. However, after the image process a handfull of the machines will not allow us to join them to the domain. We are following the same process for all the machines. I get the message: Domain controller for the domain could not be contacted. DNS servers used by this computer for name resolution are not responding. Any ideas?
