Problems Installing Network Card in XP

I have been trying to install a network card (D-Link DFE-530TX+)in Windows XP so I can get a DSL connection. I checked Windows HCL before I bought a card. I found a a D-Link card that is compatable. After I install the card and start up XP, It recognizes that I have new hardware and tries to install the drivers. Windows XP has these drivers built in and when I think everything has installed correctly, a window pops up and says that there was an error installing this hardware. Something about a problem with the data. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, do you have a solution? Thank You
