Does anyone have any feedback on the reliability or otherwise of these devices?
I’ve had an incident which I can only explain as either an NTFS bug or the controller failing to reconstruct onto a hot swap drive correctly.
Symptoms:
FtDisk Event 41 in error log
Red error light on 1 disk of array, hot swap active
File corruptions in file system, directories “emptied”, permissions lost
Chkdsk found all sorts of things it didn’t like
Worryingly, during the reboot for chkdsk, the errorlight on the “failed” disk went off, and it’s now sitting there looking like a normal hot swap again.
I now distrust this thing …
Any experiences would be helpful
Regards,
Dave
