We are currently using WinProxy 2.1 (from Ositis Software) to share our Internet Connectivity across our school network.
Up until a few months ago, we were only using Win9X clients to access Network resources.
However, I decided to try a Win2000 Pro workstation on the network.
Eventually, everything worked except that when few people were logged on to the system (and using the net) it was taking excessively long periods of time for the client to have it’s name resolution done by the Winproxy software.
Oftentimes, resolution failed (even with an Lmhosts file loaded.
Is there any way to alter the time that a client will wait to get a response from the proxy OR tunnel past the proxy somehow without making the software on the proxy server act in a transparent mode?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks all!
