public folders

I am running exchange 2003 and my public folders are set that when a new mail is delivered the name goes bold black to show theres a new mail, this is fine on all folders but 1 it just wont work. all permissions are the same. it was created exactly the same way and it happening to everyone so think its server side not client. please any help on this would be great, im puzzled
