Puretek HP2T-6007 USB camera Windows XP

I have a Puretek USB camera as outlined above. It always used to work fine with Windows 98 and dial-up. Now since I have moved to Windows XP home and broadband via an Alcatel USB modem. I have installed the Winxp driver from the puretek site and the red light is on the camera but i only get a black screen through NetMeeting/Messenger and cannot get the video to show/transmit. I thought maybe my USB modem might be conflicting but there are no conflicts in device manager. I will be adding XP Home SP1 tonight. Any other ideas appreciated?
