Question about running a SB network

by nelson . Updated 20 years, 2 months ago

I administer a 40+ small business network. I’ve been “googling” ways in which to efficiently administer my network (i.e. making sure everything is running as smooth and fast as possible.)

Currently, I’m using the following:

Anti Virus: Symantec Corporate Edition AntiVirus v.10 with System Console.

Network Inventory: NEWT Pro(a GREAT program both functionally and price wise)

Network LAN/Internet traffic: SoftPerfect Network Protocol Analyzer.

I’d like to know what else I should be using to administer my network (i.e. do people like GFI Languard for patching system, etc.)

Also, what type of reports do people report on (weekly antirus, spam reports etc.?)

Any advise would be greatly appreciated (and to make sure it’s not free, if you happen to be in the SF Bay Area, I’ll be happy to buy you a cup of coffee! I hear fedex is murder on overnighting latte’s ;-)))

Thanks!
