Raid Card problem

by etoile . Updated 24 years, 9 months ago

I just installed an Iwill IDE Side-Raid100 card. I’m trying to stripe 2 HDD. I partition the HDDs with FDISK and formatted – OK. Drives are detected normally when attached to the card, but the problem starts when I CREATE RAID ARRAY. Using eitherthe bios method on booting or software utility within Windows98 I create the array, and it appears to work, stating that the array has been created. The system automatically reboots as required, and as the Iwill BIOS loads it correctly detects andreports the HDDs, but they do not appear in Windows. I then run FDISK again and it reports that the HDDs are not partitioned. I have gone through the whole procedure again several times, but the same happens – each time I create the array, the partitions drop.

Please Help!
Thanks in advance.

My system:
Asus P4B mobo, P4 1500, 512 Mb SDRAM, Asus AGP-7700 Deluxe, SBLive!, 3xSeagate 40gig HDD 7200rpm (1 system, 2 raid on card)Ricoh CDR/RW, Pioneer DVDrom, Pinnacle DV500+ Video Capture card
