I have installed Windows 2003 server with a terminal service on the test machine. When I remotely connect to the server using the Remote Desktop Client from XP pro, I have no sound. The RDP client is set to bring the sound to the local computer. When I get on the server, the SB Live sound card is properly installed using the certified Microsoft driver and I can hear the sound from the console. When I logon locally to the console, and go to the sound property in the control panel, I see Creative SB Live properly installed. When I logon from the client using the RDP, it says Microsoft RDP driver and it is set to mute. No matter, how many times, I tried to unmute, it always go back to being muted. When I hit the volume tab, and go down to the speaker settings, and click on advanced, it says ?Direct sound settings not available.? From the console, I don?t get this error message. I have also reinstalled the Directx9c. I don?t know what else to do at this point. Any help is greatly appreciated. I also searched various forums using few search engines to see this is a common issue, I haven?t found a solution.
