rdp Server 2008 R2

Im running a Server 2008 R2 enterprise on a Dell R710. The server is running HyperV with 1 active 2003 server for storage Im running a dell Md3000i. The problem I keep running into is when I rdp onto the 2008 server it hangs on welcome. If I try and reboot from comand line it hangs and I need to hard boot the server. Any ideas what could be causing this?
