Re Disc space

I have a 512MB hard drive PC with a 90 meg. clock speed which my neice uses,she want to get rid of her Web TV so I installed a modem, but I seem to run out of disc space.How can I partition the drive to get another drive and more space.Or what sizehard drive could I install as a second drive.
