Re-establishing a network drive

Operating in Novel 5.1 and Win98SE, an errant technician has changed a network drive into a device (cdrom) on a PC. I can still access the network drive from the PC, but certain functions have been lost. There is not an option available to disconnect this “device” from thte network in order to remap, nor will it delete. How do I remove this device from the PC without affecting the network? I do not want to remap to another drive.
