I have a 500gb Lacie external hard drive attached to the server. I can get to the Lacie from any computer through the network. The problem I am having is when I open a file on the Lacie and save it to my desktop, then make some changes and go to save it back to the Lacie, it will not let me saying “this is a read only file” This happens from all the computers on my network, however, if I go to the server computer and save this file to the desktop and then go back and save it back to the Lacie it works just fine. I cannot seem to save anything to the Lacie over the network. I have tried to change permissions on the Lacie, however it still does not seem to let me save to it from any computer other than the server. I cannot save anything to the Lacie as it keeps telling e it is a read only fi;e and will not let me save to it. This is not conveinant and I need to get it changed – any ideas???
