Real-Time File Protection

I have a Windows 2003 server (OK one of 9) and all of the client stations are currently running Windows XP or Windows 2000. If Real-Time File Protection is turn on on any of the client machines they are not able to map a network drive to the Windows 2003 Server. They can ping the server by IP and by host name, just no mapping. Has anyone seen this before?
