Receiving SMS via j2me

Good day fellas!

I need help regarding j2me. i know that J2me can send and receive SMS through a port.

Can a j2me application receive SMS directly from other cellphones,service provider(SMS not passing the INBOX)?

if the j2me application was able to receive using the emulator, will it be able to recieve text messages if deployed in the mobile device?
