Redirected My Documents folder being cached locally

by x . Updated 18 years, 11 months ago

Windows 2003 Server R2 SP1

I have set up roaming profiles and redirected the My Documents folders to \\server\profiles\%username%\. The roaming Profile is also stored under this share.

Everytime a user logs in all the My Documents files are transferred from the server to the local machine. I don’t want this to happen, I’d rather the files are not cached locally and work direct from the server.

I’ve done the following:
1. Set domain and local group policy to disable automatic caching on redirected folders
2. I’ve also put \\server\profiles\%username%\my documents in the exclusion list
3. Disabled caching of files and folders at the \\server\share level.

I’ve applied the same policies at the local machine and still nothing, it caches the files anyway. I’ve read technet articles, help & support, googled it, techrepublic and can;t find anything to help.

Does anyone have any idea’s on what might be causing this and how to fix it?

I’m going crazy trying to figure it out so any help would be appreciated!
