Registration Error At Startup in XP

I have a problem at startup using XP SP2, everything starts up fine then after a about 30 sec, an error message pops up.

[The Registration Wizard Cannot Run Because The System Information It Requires Is Either Unavailable Or Incorrect]

I had about 7 trojans , but cleaned them off successfully.
any help towards a solution would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
