Remembered password for shrd file won’t

I have a w98 SE server with four w98 SE clients. The C-drive on the server is shared full access with a password. Two clients are mapped to a drive to point to that shared drive. The box is checked to remember password at bootup time for two clients. One client does and the other doesn’t. For one of the clients the pw has to be put in manually everytime and it is always the same client.
