Remote Admin Proxy

Hi,

I am sitting in an educational institution that obviously has a proxy server. I would like to connect to my home PC at times (many times) to access my PC…VNC is a solution but I cannot figure how to get out…I have tried through the browser and set the home pc to recieve through Port 8081 (same as proxy). So basically is there a way to VNC to the Server at home through the proxy in any way????? Tunnelling through 8080 or 8081 somehow???
