Remote Admin

Ok, so I got stuck with finding out how to make this happen. Sometimes being a Net Admin sucks. Anyway, I work for a small company and I am endeavoring to setup some remote admin ability for us. Most of our clients do not possess a server in their locations, but 4-5 clients, a switch, router and broadband access modem (DSL/Cable). Part of the problem I am experiencing is coming from setting up the trigger ports on the routers to send them to the right machine. I’ve researched what ports need to be used and what protocols (UPD or TCP), but it still does not seem to work. Typically I face LinkSys routers, but have a smattering of others. Anyway, has anyone setup a remote service thru these routers with the firewalls setup? I need to be able to take control of a specific machine at a location. Thanks.
