Remote Connection-W2K Pro to NT 4 Domain

I have a home PC (w2k pro) that I would like to join to my work domain via tunnel. Problem is I have been told that I cannot create a computer account on the NT 4 Domain for a W2K PC and remotely I cannot seem to join the domain. I have tried after the initial tunnel connection (Lucent IPSec32 client) and once connected via phone, but to no avail. Any suggestions?
