Remote Desktop V’s MMC

by jimklallsoo . Updated 17 years, 10 months ago

I am having some issues when remotely connecting to a couple of my servers.

Environment – Windows 2003 Servers
Tools being used – MMC snapin with remote desktop.

The problem i am having is this:
I use an MMC snapin and have all the servers i manage within this MMC which i have named “servers”.
When i connect to a couple of my servers which use resource hungry Oracle Application Server (OAS) sometimes the web Cache goes down on these servers and brings down my front end application.

However, If i use remote desktop by clicking start > Program > Accessories > Communications from the windows start menu the web cache doesn’t seem to failover.

Does the MMC SNapin use more memory, processing on the servers i am connecting to?
