Remote login

What are the steps to log into my server runing win2k advanced server remotely from home?
I run winxp pro at home, the router at work is configured for dhcp, I have admin acount on server, I know my domain name and ip address scheme, server ip etc..
router provided by service provider and configured by them, i don’t know if we are behind a fire wall or NAT (Please comments on this)
when a service provider company sets up a t-1 line and provide a router with it, are they supposed to relese all router configuration information to nt admin?
lastly do i need info about router runing configuration info to do remote login?
what information is the router provider supposed to give nt admin?
