Remote Router Administration

Hi there,

What steps needs to be taken so that say for instance I am in Cape Town, South Africa and I are to be able to change a setting on a client’s router in Johannesburg,South Africa, Via the internet.

I know that remote access must be enabled on the client’s router, but what other steps in the client’s router configuration needs to be changed to enable remote access to the router?
