remove driver from 2k3000

How can I manually (or otherwise) remove a driver for a device not physically in the unit? I installed a promise fast track raid controller card and it caused blue screen on boot so I fugured the card was bad and removed it. I bought a new IDE Controller extension and when I put the card in the pci slot, it blue screens (possibly cause they are similar products). When I remove the cards I can boot. How can I remove/rollback a driver that doesn’t appear in devices because it is not connected?
