“remove only ” program

my scanner isnt working. Ive tried to figure out what went wrong since for the last week it works perfectly. and now it dont… when i check the add/remove program button i saw there that the program for the scanner has the (remove only) status on it… when i tried to uninstall and reinstall it, it automatically has the “remove only” on it… whats seems to be the problem and how could i reinstall the program
