Removing AD server from network forever… what will be the impact?

by raghavme . Updated 18 years, 4 months ago

I run a cybercafe with 40 XP pro PCs, 1 win2003 enterprise server.

DSL+DHCP –> win2003 DC/AD+DNS+safesquid+IIS+mySQL –> Switches –> XP pro PCs

I planned to run Active Directory to lock down the user environment, so after installing, i found a lot of things can go wrong, and i dont want to be the one worrying about the troubleshooting etc stuff also the backup etc. Too much work, as I don’t have time to devote to that.

So, what will be implications, if i just uninstalled AD.. how to reset my client machines to default state… so they have nothing to do with the DOMAIN that i joined them to…

please suggest some policy on hwo to go about it, I am just experimenting with my free time. It is a production environment, don’t want to stall the whole place down! 😀

thanks!
