Removing proxy settings via GP

by daywalker44 . Updated 16 years, 10 months ago

My network has a proxy server configured. This proxy server is down, and is also unnesessary, due to the new firewall I have in place. None of my clients that were configured (by my oh-so incompetent predecessor) to use this proxy server can access the internet. This is because I am assuming the proxy settings for the clients were manually entered. I have tried setting no proxy via GP under User Configuration->Windows Settings->Internet Explorer Maintenance->Connection->Proxy Settings. This policy is being applied to my clients. However, even with auto detect settings disabled and no proxy settings entered via GP my clients are still looking to hit my proxy server before they hit the internet. What would be the best way to remove these proxy settings from my clients network wide so they can access the internet. I’m sort of time pressed to get the clients up on the web. THANK YOU much in advance.
