Renaming a PC

Hi, we recently started using RIS to load PCs and then are using GPs to load a variet of software.

However we have discovered that if we rename a PC, the PC will still attach to the network and log into the domain and seems to function okay, but nothing else on the network can see that PC. You cannot ping and cannot connect to with any remote tools. Re-imaging the PC is the only way we have found to correct the problem

Any ideas?
