Repairing Wireless Network

I have a Netgear wireless router (802.11g) running off of my desktop that is wired and a laptop with a wireless card (802.11g). The network works but I have to keep repairing the network on both computers as the network just seems to quit. Both machines are XP machines with SP2 (this was happening before I installed service pack 2). Any help is greatly appreciated!
