Replacing DEC Terminal Servers

by penguinsrule . Updated 24 years, 10 months ago

We are running a primarily DEC network – with DECHubs, DecSwitches, etc.. and terminal servers for terminals, scanners, serial printers, thermal printers, etc.

As everything is seeming to go the all Cisco route that leaves us in a bind with whatto do with our terminal servers because these devices don’t support IP. We’re running OpenVMS on VAX and Alpha platforms primarily. Were running the LAT protocol.
I’m wanting to hear about anyone’s experiences of seeking to get off the Dec Networking and onto the Cisco hubs/routers/switches and what they did about terminal servers and if they supported LAT or not. THANKS
