Replacing NETWARE compliant

by bayk . Updated 24 years, 1 month ago

I have inherited a network configuration where a Windows 95 station needs to communicate with a Netware 3.76 server.
Two NICs are present on the Windows 95 station; one is NETWARE 2000 compliant the other isn’t but has the IPX/SPX protocol bound toit. As the two cards are connected to the same physical network I need to disconnect one of them (loops are no-no on Ethernet). If I choose to disconnect the NETWARE 2000 compliant card will the non compliant NIC with IPX/SPX installed ensure all communications with the Netware 3.76 server.

If this is a viable solution what pitfalls do I have to look out for?
If a better solution exists can anyone suggest to me what it is?

Thank you
