We’ve just completed a disaster recovery test, and it caused a bunch of problems with Production servers and the domain. Can anyone help me with this?
We are replicating our servers to our DR site. The procedure is to bring the recovered box up in isolation (without network connectivity), change the name, IP address and put it into a workgroup. Then bring it live on the network and add the “new” server to the domain.
The problem is that a couple of days after doing this, some of our production servers removed themselves from the domain.
So either the isolated, replicated server saved the request to be removed from the domain until it could contact the DC?
OR the SSID of the server remains the same and removes the old computer account when the new computer account is created?
Anyone have any suggestions??
