We have 2 domains, one is an NT4 and consists of a PDC, a BDC and a member server. Attached is a hardware RAID (RAID 5) with DFS for easy access by the staff across the network.
The 2nd domain is Win 2K and was intended for migration from NT 4, but we haven’t had the money to hire someone to complete the migration. The 2nd domain consists of a PDC, a BDC and a member server.
Both domains share the same DNS server (a SonicWall Firewall that acts as a DNS server for the two domains). Both domains have an established two-way trust relationship.
The BDC was accidentally erased but was reloaded and I and another person attempted to rebuild and reset the trust relationship of the BDC for Domain 2K and Domain NT 4. The trust is working because I can see the other domain from the Domain 2K BDC. I can even see the DFS from the Domain 2K BDC. But when I run Retrospect to create a backup of the DFS and Exchange Email files from the Domain 2K BDC I get an error message that it can’t connect to the DFS or Exchange Email files and replicate them. The Domain 2K PDC, which has never been touched accurately replicates the files using another installation of Retrospect.
Any help would be appreciated.
