I had a File Server on which my user Profiles folder was stored. The OS was Windows 2003 server with SP1.
The System crashed and i had to reinstall the OS on it.
Now the profiles folder which was shared has to be shared again.
What earlier i had done was given “full control permissions” to “everyone” to the Parent Folder and when the profile was created the permissions were applied automatically. Now the share has to be recreated and permissions to be applied again.
I am afraid that if i give “Full Control” to “Everyone” then the permissions will propogate to the subfolders and might reset the permissions which were earlier assigned automatically by the OS.
Has anyone done this before, as i donot want to take risk with the permissions getting reset to some thing wrong, because the users data is their.
Please Help on this. Its very urgent
