Restoring pub.edb & priv.edb files

Is it possible to restore the pub.edb and priv.edb files backed up using Microsoft backup to a server other than the machine the backup was originally created on and if so how do you do it?

The server that crashed was running Windows 2000 Server with Exchange 5.5 and we need to restore the files to a different server.
