Restrict Access to Non Domain Computers

by g2 la gixa . Updated 19 years, 3 months ago

i have a windows 2003 server domain with active directory, dns and remote access enabled…
it is also the gateway to a remote location for which it does routing for the hosts on the local lan… oh and it is the domain controller of this lan

i wish to restrict access to the routing services of this server only machines which have registered on the domain and deny any workgroup machines access to any services on my server ie dns, routing etc

i took a look at restriction via input and output filters under ip routing (routing and remote access) but it seems very cumbersome (although it can be done) and i run the risk of having the ‘workgroup’ machines changing their ips and all

googling seems to alway land me into IPSec although i think there are ‘simpler’ solutions…..

any help will be greatly appreciated
thanx
