Restricting access to a shared resource using GPO and AD groups

by sohin . Updated 17 years, 1 month ago

Hi,

I am having a AD server which manages the user accounts. All the users have access to a shared file sever where the users can store official data. Each user needs access to his/her own folder.

Now the problem here is any user can access the folder of any other user on the server. I am aware of the fact that this restriction can be acheived by using NTFS permissions on the share. but, i am looking to acheive this restriction solely with the use of GPO’s and AD groups . As in i am looking for a folder level restriction to a share using GPO’s and AD groups . Is there a way to do this ?
