Retrieve email attachmnets from exchange using vb.net windows app?

I currently am looking for a way to watch or poll a specified exchange server mail account and download any email attachments to either a local server or folder.
I am writing a windows app in vb.net,(soon to become a service), which checks for an excel attachment to arrive and moves it’s data to an access db.
I have an application working that watches a specific folder on the local machine but do not know how to get the file to it.
Any idea on what I should be looking into?
