Returnable Container Tracking Software

I work for a chemical manufacturer and we’re looking to institute a returnable container system. Basically a customer gets our product in a returnable container that we’ve numbered in some way, and when that container is returned they get a credit. Does anybody know of a returnable container tracking application we could use?
