roaming profiles

we are using windows 2000/office 2000, but our servers our on NT4. We now have to set up roaming profiles for our users, however when you go to the user profiles settings under the system the option to change is not available. I prefer not to go into the registry is there a back door. I set up a user for setting up our roam.
