Rolling out Windows Update

I would like to update windows on all the computers on our network. But I do not want to run from each machine Windows Update on Internet Explorer’s Tool menu, downloading and installing over 100 MB of patches. Can I download the patches once to a network share and then update each computer in a way that takes into consideration different machine configurations?
